FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Canadian hurdler Nigel Joseph will join the Colorado State track and field program in January, Head Coach Brian Bedard announced Saturday. Joseph, who finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Canadian Senior Nationals, will be eligible to compete in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

"Nigel is a good athlete," said Bedard. "It is rare that we bring someone in over the break. We can use his help. He is a truly versatile guy in the triple, hurdles and relays. Having his versatility at the conference level is good for us. He has the potential to be a national qualifier in the 400 hurdles."

In addition to his accomplishments at the senior nationals, Joseph spent one year at Unmerited of Calgary. His personal records include a time of 51.9 seconds in the 400 hurdles and 8.51 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. Joseph will also compete in the triple jump for the Rams and holds a personal best of 14.03 meters.

Joseph Personal Records:

14.77 - 110 Hurdles
8.51 - 60-meter Hurdles
