Rams Chasing Bowl Berth
Colorado State continues its quest for bowl eligibility in the final regular season game of the season this week at UNLV. The Rams enter the game 5-5 on the season, 4-3 in Mountain West Conference action. With a victory this week, Colorado State would achieve bowl eligibility for the 11th time in Sonny Lubick's 13 seasons as head coach. Colorado State could then potentially earn a spot in one of the three bowl games that have agreements with the MWC. The conference has agreements in place with the Las Vegas Bowl (Dec. 22), Emerald Bowl (Dec.29) in San Francisco, and the new Poinsettia Bowl (Dec. 22) in San Diego.

OC Albert Bimper, left hamstring; LB Jahmall Hall, left knee; S Lukas Davis, left knee; DT Shaun McGoveran, concussion; LB John Nichols, right shoulder; OT Mike Brisiel, lower back; S Klint Kubiak, left hamstring.

Rams At Home
Colorado State is 48-20 in home games during Lubick's tenure. The Rams are 25-5 in home nonconference games since 1993. The nonconference losses have been at the hands of Oregon (1993), Colorado (1996), Fresno State (2001), Miami of Ohio (2003), and Minnesota (2004).

Rams On The Road
Colorado State is 43-30 in 73 road games since Sonny Lubick's arrival in 1993. The Rams were 1-4 on the road in 2004.

Streak In Jeopardy
Already this season, OC Albert Bimper was sidelined by a hamstring injury after having started 36 career games. Now, with a lower back contusion suffered last week by OT Mike Brisiel, the longest starting streak on the team is in jeopardy. Brisiel has started 43 games in his career, 32 in a row.

Kaylor Leads League
P Jimmie Kaylor leads the MWC and ranks second nationally in punting average. Kaylor has had eight punts of 50 yards or more in 2005, and three more longer than 60 yards. Additionally, he has had 10 of his 46 punts downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line.

Holland Top TD Figure
QB Justin Holland has thrown 20 touchdowns on the season, tying for the top spot with former Rams' Moses Moreno (1997) and Matt Newton (20).

Four Named To Academic Team
Four CSU student-athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team. Sophomore RB Kyle Bell was named to the first team while senior wide receiver David Anderson, junior OL Clint Oldenburg and sophomore DL Jesse Nading were presented with second team honors. Colorado State's district is comprised of all Division I and I-AA teams from Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota. Bell has a 3.65 GPA with a major in technical journalism. Oldenburg, a Gillette, Wyo., native, holds a 3.48 GPA with a major in technical journalism. Anderson has a 3.21 GPA with a major in speech communication. Nading, a sophomore from Highlands Ranch, Colo., holds a 3.45 GPA majoring in business administration.

Noting QB Justin Holland
• completed his first 12 pass attempts at New Mexico for 138 yards and a touchdown;
• has thrown at least one touchdown pass in eight of 10 games in 2005;
• has tied the school record for scoring passes in a season, 20;
• has thrown two or more touchdown passes in seven of 10 games in 2005;
• three times in 2005 has thrown three or more touchdown passes four time sin 2005, including a career-most four in the team's win over Wyoming;
• has thrown two or more touchdown passes in nine of 17 career starts;
• has had six career 300-yard passing games including three in 2005, tying for third most in school history;
• ranks third in the league by averaging 264 yards passing per game;
• ranks second in the league and 25th nationally with a passing efficiency rating of 144.5;
• has thrown for 5,123 yards in his career, eighth most in CSU history;
• in 2005 has thrown for 2,640 yards, the fifth highest season total in school history;
• has 2,492 yards in total offense in 2005, the seventh highest season total in school history.

Noting RB Kyle Bell
• five times has gained 100 or more yards in a game in 2005;
• has carried 30 or more times in a game five times;
• ranks second in the league and 23rd nationally by averaging 107.5 yards per game rushing;
• in 2005 has gained 1,075 yards rushing, the 16th 1,000-yard rusher in school history;
• his season rushing total ties for the 10th best season performance in school history.

MWC Record
Colorado State is 33-16 in 49 MWC games since 1999 when the conference was formed. The Rams are 18-7 at home, 15-9 on the road in MWC action.

Defensive Notes
• S Travis Garcia leads the team with 73 tackles, including 46 unassisted;
• Garcia's starting teammate at the other safety position, Miles Kochevar, is second on the team with 71 tackles;
• three of the four leading tacklers on the team play in the secondary; CB Robert Herbert is third behind Garcia and Kochevar with 62 tackles;
• LB Courtney Jones and DE Jesse Nading are tied for the team lead with eight tackles for loss;
• Nading leads the team with three quarterback sacks
• Colorado State did not force a turnover in the game

Pennant Fever
Colorado State is 22-8 in games played during Sonny Lubick's 13 seasons in games where a share of the conference title or potential bowl invitation was at stake. In those stretch drive games, CSU is 11-3 on the road, 11-5 at home.

Colorado State has a 26-11 record in games played during November in Sonny Lubick's career in Fort Collins.

Second Time
Colorado State's loss at TCU and at home to San Diego State mark only the second time in Sonny Lubick's 13 seasons the Rams have lost back-to-back games in the month of November.

Colorado State has used three true freshman through 10 games in 2005, as compared to having used six last season. S Klint Kubiak has played in 10 games, on special teams and also as a reserve in the secondary. DT Shaun McGoveran has played two games, and DE Wade Landers has played in four games.

WR Dustin Osborn (Minnesota) and WR Luke Roberts (Air Force) have one apiece. CSU's 11 total 100-yard games is the most under Sonny Lubick.

Back-To-Back Receiving
Colorado State had at least one 100-yard receiver in each of the first eight games of the season. But the Rams have not had a 100-yard receiver in either of the past two games.

Season Picks
Colorado State has 11 pass interceptions through eight games in 2005. Colorado State finished the 2004 season with eight total interceptions.

Special Teams Streaks
Colorado State is trying to break a pair of special teams streaks in 2005. The Rams have returned 181 kickoffs without a touchdown since Sept. 29, 2001 when Dexter Wynn scored on a kickoff return at Wyoming. Wynn was the last Ram to return a punt for a touchdown, Sept. 14, 2002 against Louisville. The Rams have since returned 102 punts without a score.

Colorado State averages 175.1 yards per game rushing in the team's 156 games under Sonny Lubick, including 202.1 in 100 wins and 123.9 in 56 losses.
